The City of Sydney delivers the flagship event website 'What's On'; an informative guide to cultural sporting recreational activities and events in Sydney.

They needed

The City of Sydney required a solution that enabled then to promote an extensive calendar of events. Their existing system and process was resource intensive and limited their ability to promote a larger volume of events. In order to increase the volume of events, they needed to source events information from existing publishers and promote event submission from community based organisations. They needed to deliver event information in a vibrant, modern and contemporary look and feel. They wanted to create a flagship Sydney event website.

We provided

Morpheum worked with the City of Sydney to deploy the Lantern CMS Event Manager, a central system that manages events from various sources and includes a workflow process for review and approval prior to publishing.

The City of Sydney solution sources event data through internal event management, automatic syndication of credible event information from existing publishers (zero cost publishing) and external community based submission.

The website design and features enable consumers to interact with the event calendar based on various profiles, an advanced search and subscription management.

Morpheum provided the City of Sydney with a low cost, high quality event management solution.

Over and above

In additional to the event based 'What's On' website the City of Sydney needed an online environment to provide journalists and other media professionals with images and current information about the City. Together Morpheum and the City of Sydney establish the City of Sydney Media center which provides a central online media source, managed by Lantern CMS.

The Dictionary of Sydney has also been developed as a central knowledge and historical website utilising the workflow, authoring tools within Lantern CMS.
